A MESSAGE FROM THE COACH

As you all know the club has taken the difficult decision to cease training due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, we have a duty of care to our members and their families and we do not want to put them at risk. As we share our training facility with the public we believe training in this environment is not in our members best interest. Government advice is changing daily as the cases of coronavirus increase and we are following the Governments view on social distancing and reducing the interaction between people.

The centre is currently open and running with increased chlorine levels, Please note: this could have a negative effect on those with asthma and those with a sensitive skin condition so be careful, it is your right to continue to visit the centre, use the gym and swim if you choose to, but that is a decision for parents and swimmers to make, unfortunately as a club, we will not be training.

Swim Wales, Swim England and Swim Scotland have cancelled ALL competitions, a shame as we had a good number who were going to attend the Welsh Long Course Nationals and I personally was looking forward to seeing you all perform at the highest level in Wales.

Our governing body Swim Wales has advised swimmers NOT to attend camps or train with other clubs. So try to keep as fit as you can, at home do High-Intensity-Interval -Training (HIIT) workouts 7, 10 or 15 minutes in length, go for a run, bicycle or even hill walking, but keep yourselves as active as possible and hopefully, the team will be back in the pool training.

I will keep in touch with updates but for now, keep your spirits up, stay safe, look after yourselves and your families. IMPORTANT keep in touch and support each other.

Coach Terry
