Wrexham Cath Ankers Warm-up Update

Cath Ankers Meet 2017, DOORS OPEN AT 7.45am.

Warm Up and Information Sheet.

Entry to the pool complex will open from 7.45am Please do not go up the stairs to either the changing area or spectator area until after this time.

Sunday Morning         8.00-8.15am Girls 9/10yrs (9 swimmers per lane max)

8.15-8.30am Girls 11yrs/12yrs (10 swimmers per lane max.)

8.30-8.45am  Boys 9yrs/10yrs/11yrs (9 swimmers per lane max.)

8.45- 9.00am Girls 13yrs/over (9 swimmers per lane max.)

9.00-9.15am  Boys 12/over (9 swimmers per lane max)

These figures are based on the total number of swimmers in the meet (288 swimmers) the largest number of swimmers for warm up will be (258 swimmers)

Afternoon warm up is scheduled for 1.00-2.15pm and will take the same format as above.

Before the evening sessions (scheduled to start at 5.45 pm but may be brought forward  if we make up time in the afternoon session) there may be a mini warm up for swimmers who have not been in for the earlier sessions. We suggest that swimmers being in the Evening part of the Meet need to be back at the pool by 5.00pm at the latest so we can get people home earlier if possible.

The pool deck area is restricted to competitors and pass holders only. All Coaches must have collected their passes and coaches packs from the Meet Office which is along the corridor at the side of the pool office, between 7.45-8.30am Sunday Morning

Swimmers must use the lockers provided these only accept old pound coins in the changing area please make sure a minimum of items is taken poolside this includes folding camping chairs which will be removed if they are brought on poolside. All bags must be kept in lockers, teams will be asked to remove bags from the pool deck area if this request is ignored. This will be enforced by the Meet Manager

No outside shoes should be worn on poolside

Swimmers are not allowed to go from the poolside to the spectator area via the connecting stairs from the pool deck this is a Health and Safety requirement by Wrexham County Borough Council. Coaches please make sure your swimmers change and use the main stairs to gain access to the spectator area. Any swimmer in breach of this requirement will be barred from the Meet. Following our last gala notices warning swimmers will be posted by the stairs to this effect.         SWIMMERS ARE NOT TO USE THE POOLSIDE STAIRS TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE BALCONY, USE THE MAIN STAIRS.

The use of Photography during this meet is permitted and will be subject to a form of consent being filled in at the programme desk. Please note the use of Mobile Phones during the Meet is allowed swimmers and spectators must have them turned to silent mode. The Meet Mobile APP is being used at this meet with a live results service being used.

Swimmers please be aware, if you are caught using a mobile phone in the changing area you will be removed from the meet, this is a strict policy and must be followed . NO MOBILE PHONES IN THE CHANGING AREA.

Meet programmes will be sold at the desk in the spectator area for the whole day cost £5.00 (there is no reduction if you attend only one session on the day.) Please note because we have allowed in the maximum number of competitors on poolside, the spectator area may be extremely full. We apologies in advance about this but we are trying to accommodate as many competitors as possible.

Medals can be collected when announced; there will be no formal presentations. Medals will be for all age groups advertised and for the first six places. Speeding Tickets will be forwarded to the club after the Meet.

Age groups are as follows:-  9,10,11,12,13,14,15/over

At the end of the meet the Top Girls and Top Boy, Cath Ankers Awards will be presented to the swimmers with the highest points.

Wrexham are also asking if qualified timekeepers / officials to volunteer their help at the meet. They will provide refunds for their car park fees and a small gift at the end of the day for helping out. Please let Bob Rogers know you can help when you arrive.
