Holywell attended the Swim Wales Regional long course meet in Liverpool with one of the biggest teams at the meet, 36 Holywell swimmers had great success at the meet with some super performances.
The meet was held over 3 days, a Friday evening session on the 9th and 2 full days Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th February.
The Team were supported and cheered on by their team mates, parents and family members who travelled to Liverpool to give their support. The team thank you for your support.
Coaches and team managers were proud of the team and they should all be proud of their performances.
Apart from some amazing individual performances, stand out swims have to be our relay teams, they were amazing, Holywell had strength in depth in the relays from the 11-12 age groups to the 17 and over teams. Medals came in from all age groups. A fantastic achievement from everyone.
This was the first Swim Wales North Long Course Regional Championships Swim Wales, and this year 2024 it was held over the border in Liverpool, shame we don’t have a 50m pool in North Wales so we could have held it in our own back yard.
Swimmer of the meet has to go to Reggie Park, Reggie had some outstanding swims taking 7 individual races from sprints to distance events, 6 gold medals and 1 Silver medal and 5 personal best times…
Big thank you to our coaches and team managers Lorna Clarke, Charlotte Atkins, Sarah Davies and Kerry Johnson, fantastic weekend and a great atmosphere, the support during the relays was amazing, loud cheering, shouting that was dominated by team Holywell, a credit to the club.
