Why be part of a Regional Volunteer Panel? This is an exciting opportunity to be part of developing and inspiring people within one of the 3 designated regions in Wales to develop a lifelong passion and involvement in Aquatics. Although not essential, you will be able to use your Aquatics experience and passion to help inspire a nation of 3.1 million people to become aquatically active. All members of the panel will act independently in their roles and declare any potential conflicts of interest at the earliest possible opportunity.

Communication skills, both written and verbal, will be absolutely crucial in ensuring the development and progression of the regions. Transparency and integrity will be two integral values that will need to be upheld across all role holders on the panels and consistent, challenging yet engaging communications will help support this ethos.

Swim Wales has a strong commitment to improving equality and diversity within the sport. It is expected that the role holders will uphold this commitment and demonstrate the appropriate inclusive behaviours to support achievement of these aims.

The objectives of the Regional Panel are to:

• Plan and direct the Region’s activities to achieve stated/agreed targets and standards for governance, financial controls, legislative compliance (including health & safety, child protection, safeguarding, inclusivity, equality and risk management), membership, performance, LTAD commitment, discipline, organisational identity and culture.

• Provide the Main Board with advice and input on key initiatives/issues pertinent and related to Regional matters;

• Oversee implementation of agreed marketing and business development plans in support of the Board’s overall strategy;

• Maintain and develop organisational culture, values and reputation in its markets and with all members (clubs, swimmers and volunteers), customers, suppliers, partners and regulatory/official bodies. Access to transport will be essential. All members of the panel will act independently in their roles and declare any potential conflicts of interest at the earliest possible opportunity.
