Great team spirit at Swim Conway’s Autumn Meet.

18 Holywell  ASC swimmers competed at the Conway Autumn meet on the weekend of the  7th and 8th of August 2017 in Llandudno, the team had some great swims. All were in a happy confident mood for the 2 day event. Day 1 started really well with some of the distance events for the girls with Ffion Austin winning Gold in the 400 IM  and Anna Leitner following this up with Gold in the 200 Fly, Shannon Harvey and Alexandra Owen-Hatfield both came in to win Silver in their 200 Fly events and the rest of the team continued in the same way.

By the end of the 2nd day the team had achieved 54 PBs, winning 13 Golds – 15 Silver – 12 Bronze medals, (40 medals in total) many of our swimmers making qualifying times for the Welsh Winter Nationals which are held at the Welsh National pool Swansea in early December, Well done to all who made their QT times.

We are pleased for Kathryn Schofield (right) one of our satellite Tri swimmers who needed to achieve a swim time, she has been selected onto a GB team and will be competing at the European Championships in Ibiza Well Done Kathryn.

At the end of the meet Jean-Luc Lovell-Pascal (left) was awarded a well deserved Top Boy award for winning Gold in the 1500m, Silver in 200m FC, Bronze in the 200 BRs and 200 IM, 4 x 4th placings, one 5th and one 6th place, 10 events and 10 personal best times, well done Jean-Luc.
