December Update from the Head Coach

Hi All

Festive greetings from your head coach Terry , can i wish all the swimmers, parents, guardians, grandparents and your family’s  a Merry Christmas and Happy new year for 2018.

Last year was a great year for the club, if the swimmers continue with the same determination and ethos into 2018 we can go from strength to strength.

Here are a few updates for December.

1. Next Thursday the 21st December will be our last session before our Christmas shutdown we will be having a fun night with the giant inflatable, parents can enjoy mince pies and mulled wine on the balcony while the swimmers enjoy themselves. NO LAND TRAINING ON  THURSDAY 21st DUE TO POOL PARTY.

youngers swimmers Minnows to Bronze groups 6.30pm – 7.30pm and older swimmers Silver Gold, White, Blue, JNR Performance  and Performance 7.30 – 8.30.

2. All swimmers who have qualifying times for the Regional Championships have been handed an entry form, the form has been highlighted with the races the swimmer qualifies in. Although the date for returning the form states the 4th of January, i would like all entry’s in earlier. The Regionals have relays and i want to choose teams in preparation for the meet, at this meet please enter as many races as possible. I want Holywell to enter as many relay teams as we can so, PLEASE can you return the form ASAP aim to get them in before the shutdown, ie no later than the 21st of December. any problems let me know.

3. Xmas Swim Camp, this is an intense 3 days of swimming held on the 27th- 28th & 29th December between 8am – 10am. The camp is for swimmers preparing for Regional Championships on the 2nd-3rd-4th & 10th-11th February, ALL swimmers who qualify for the Regionals and enter should make every effort to attend the camp, the regionals is our biggest meet in North Wales and ALL swimmers should make every effort to compete at this meet, if you have been given an entry form GET IT IN EARLY.

4. On Monday from 5.30pm, Gaynor our Performance strength and conditioning coach will be holding a sports  massage session. as a duty of care to our swimmers this will be done on poolside, screening forms will need to be filled in and if swimmers are under 18 yrs this will need to be done by the swimmers parent/guardian . Cost is £5, each swimmers massage will last 10-15 mins depending on the needs of the swimmer. For the first session Performance, Jnr Performance (i know Jnr performance do not swim on Fridays, however you are invited) and Gold group swimmers are invited to attend the sports massage session. Other session will be arranged to suit swimmers needs.  We will arrange slots on Fridays. As Gaynor can only cater for a limited number at each session a list will be generated each week. We are just trialling this to see if its of benefit. if your not swimming please make sure you bring a towel.

5. We are looking forward to continuing our parnership with Stockport Metro into 2018, the Stockport session is on Saturday for those invited to attend, there will also be Stockport sessions on the 23rd and 30th of December.

i will be inviting additional swimmers to attend this great opportunity in the new year.

Have a Great Xmas

and a

Wonderful New Year
