Our Masters swimmers Nicola Latty, Geoff Boddie and Phil Burchell travelled down to Swansea for the British Masters 2019 Championships, the three swimmers had trained well in preparation for this event.
Nicola kicked things off winning Gold in the 400 IM event narrowly missing her PB time by 1/10th of a second. Nicola then won Bronze in the 100m Fly and picked up her 2nd Gold in the 200m Freestyle and her 3rd in the 200m Fly. Nicola also won a Silver in the 400m Freestyle.
Geoff and Phil swam in the 200m Breaststroke in different age groups with Phil taking Silver in his age group, followed by Geoff who had a super swim winning Gold in his age group. Phil went on to win Silver in the 400 IM.
Geoff and Phil then competed in the 100m Breaststroke with Geoff winning Silver and Phil taking Bronze in their age groups. a great effort from Phil considering this was his first British Masters and his first time ever swimming these events Long Course.
Great swimming bagged the masters 10 Medals, 4 Gold – 4 Silvers and 2 Bronze
