Swim Wales Summer Nationals 2019

Holywell took a small team to the Swim Wales Summer Nationals but it ended up being done one of the most exciting Summers we have had for a while.

Solid Swims from Ffion Austin saw her PB in both the 100m Breast dropping 4.16 seconds and the 200m IM dropping 6.17 seconds.

Georgia Wade – Jones swam 2 great swims in the 50m Fly dropping 3 seconds from her PB time and another 1.26 seconds from her 50m FC time.

Rhys Roberts raced really well at this meet having 4 Personal best times in 50m Breaststroke and Backstroke and 100m Fly and Backstroke.

Alexandra Owen-Hatfield stormed her way to Bronze in the 100m Fly and Silver in the 400m IM, Alexandra came 4th in the 200m IM final but won Gold to become Welsh Champion in the 200m Fly final made more impressive due to Alexandra taking first ahead of 3 very good swimmers from the city of Leeds. Alexandra’s 100m, 200m Fly and 200m, 400m IM swims place Alexandra onto the Welsh skills squads

Jean-Luc Lovell-Pascal had some up and down swims at the meet, after returning from a family holiday it took Jean-Luc a few races to get back his feel for the water. after coming 3rd in the prelims for the 200m Breaststroke Jean-Luc had a great PB to take Silver in the final, his second placing also places Jean-Luc back onto the Welsh skills swim squad.

Overall for such a small team they did amazingly well having 2 swimmers make the Welsh squads is a fantastic achievement. Well done team. #HolywellASC#SummerNationals#WeLoveToWin
