Stephanie Proud Backstroke Clinic @ Holywell January 2020.

Holywell, Chirk and Buckley swimmers had a great day with Steph Proud, British 200m backstroke champion, 2012 London Olympian, 2010 Commonwealth games swimmer. Steph held a Land training session, a pool session and Q&A session at Holywell Leisure Centre. The swimmers had a great day at land training, the swimmers demonstrated a high level of skill in the pool which Steph commentated on saying how impressed she was. The swimmers and some parents asked lots of questions at the Q&A. Steve Parker (Chirks head coach) and I agree how well our swimmers are constantly learning and moving forward, it’s great to see.

FEBRUARY UPDATE:_ REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS 1st January 2nd, 3rd, 7th, 8th and 9th February.

Regionals 2020

An amazing 2 weekends of intense swimming, super support from swimmers and parents for the team, lots of ups (Zac Hewitt coming from 6th in the 50 Free final to win silver and downs Laura Adamson going into the of the 100 Brs only to have her goggles come off in the final when diving in). but this is what makes a swimmer Laura dusted herself off and went on later to PB and win Bronze in the 200m Brs.

The week started well with Jean-Luc Lovel Pascal in the 1500m with a solid swim taking 38.10 seconds off his entry time and the success for the swimmers continued throughout the 2 weekends, Well done team..
