Swim Wales North 2017 Regional Championships Update

Congratulations to all the swimmers who took part in the Swim Wales north regional championships, the team was in great form, all the hard work done at the swim camp in Calella and during the winter training period paid off.

 

The team came 4th overall with incredible performances producing a total of 61 medals:-  20 Gold, 14 Silvers and 17 Bronze and hundreds of PBs.

To cap off a great two weekends the team made everyone incredibly proud by winning a further 3 Gold, 2 Silver and 5 Bronze team medals in the relays. in some of the relays Holywell entered 2 teams and both teams performed amazingly well, a credit to the club

A big congratulations to Liv Davis and Jamie Waite,  Liv won the overall top female swimmer of the meet, a fantastic achievement, well done Liv.  Jamie turned 18 whilst at the meet, he was cheered on by his team mates and did a great job in breaking the elusive 1 minute for the 100m front crawl, swimming 59.23 great swim Jamie.

Some of the team had the fortune of meeting Liam Tancock the British Olympian and world champion. Liam was also a former world record-holder in Backstroke and kindly agreed to have his picture taken with some of the swimmers.

Well done to you all, comments from some of the officials was that Holywell should be proud of their team they were very polite and respectful to the officials.
