Holywell swimmers British qualifying events review.

 British Qualifying Events Review 

Holywell swimmers competed at their last 50m British summer qualifying event of 2017 in Sheffield at the No Frills event on the 13th – 14th of May. Some tired swimmers put in 100% effort at this meet and came away with some great Swims, the British qualifiers are not about medals, at the Stockport British qualifiers (BQ) where no medals are awarded, although we did come away with an amazing haul from the other 2 events, these meets are about times and ranking positions and over the past 2 months we have seen our swimmers achieve some amazing swims, some placing not only in the top 3 in Wales, but also ranking highly in Britain.

All the swimmers competing in the qualifying window over the past 2 months at Stockport, Swansea and Sheffield have done incredibly well, they have work very hard and the times they swam reflect that, our coaching staff have worked with them in many ie, land based training, technical aspects, race strategy and much more to ensure our swimmers archived their goals.

Goal setting sheets were issued at the start of the season, most swimmers have surpassed their short and medium term goals and are now looking to achieving Welsh squad places, some swimmers targeted this as one of their long term goals and will be hoping to achieve a places which are selected in September, just after the Wales summer nationals in August.

Remember there is a  Swim Wales Summer Development meet 2017 which is a level 3 open long course meet aimed at our 10 and 11 year old development swimmers that is run in the afternoon session of the Welsh Summer nationals, Qualifying times are needed and entry for this event is open today 19th of May 2017.
